Connecting to Penn College's Wi-Fi Network

PCT Wireless Networks

PCT-New

  • Residence Halls and the ACC have this new wireless network at the beginning of the Fall '24 semester.  You can view the tentative plan for the transition here.
  • PCT-New is the preferred connection to be used for laptops, smart phones and other mobile devices when available.
  • Highest WiFi speeds and includes the brand new 6ghz frequency.
  • Secure WiFi network.  Users will use their PCT username and password to sign on.
  • You could have to trust a certificate from ise.pct.edu depending on your device.

PCT

  • PCT is the preferred connection to be used for laptops, smart phones and other mobile devices when PCT-New is unavailable.
  • High Wi-Fi speeds
  • Secure WiFi network.  Users will use their PCT username and password to sign on.
  • You could have to trust a certificate from ise.pct.edu depending on your device.
  • During Fall '24 Semester users are not required to register devices that connect to PCT network as they did in the past.

PCT-IoT

  • PCT-IOT is for devices unable to connect to PCT-New and PCT networks because they are incapable of signing in with username and password.  This includes gaming consoles, smart TV's, and many other Internet-of-Things devices.
  • 5ghz frequency only, for Higher Wi-Fi speeds
  • Pre-shared Key Password to connect is wildcats.
  • Users will be required to register devices MAC Address using their Penn College username and password at mydevices.pct.edu

PCT-2.4ghz

  • PCT-2.4ghz is another PCT-IOT network, but only for 2.4ghz frequency.  This is for devices incapable of signing in with username and password as well as unable to connect to 5ghz frequency.  This includes gaming consoles, smart TV's, and many other Internet-of-Things devices.
  • Users will be required to register devices using their Penn College username and password at mydevices.pct.edu
  • Pre-shared Key Password to connect is wildcats.

PCT-Guest

  • PCT-Guest for guests and visitors of Penn College.
  • Open and unsecured wireless network.
  • Restricted Wi-Fi Speeds - Capped at 30 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload.
  • No access to the College's internal network resources, Internet only.
  • Browse Wi-Fi networks on your device and choose the “PCT-Guest” network. (No authentication is required).
  • You must accept the Acceptable Use Policy and are required to follow while on PCT networks.
