Upload a Video File to Kaltura (for students)

Overview

Video files including .mp4, .mov, .avi, and .wmv can be uploaded to Kaltura within P.L.A.T.O. Students are then able to share these videos within courses via dropboxes and discussion boards.

Instructions

Step 1. 

Log into P.L.A.T.O.

 

Step 2.

Click the “My Media” button from the P.L.A.T.O home page.

Step 3.

Click the “Add New” button and choose "Media Upload".

Step 4.

On the Upload Media page you can either drag & drop the desired video file into the upload area, or click the "Choose a file to upload" button to browse your local hard-drives.

Step 5.

While the video is uploading enter a Name, any desired Description information, and search-able Tags.

The Publishing Status can remain as Private.

Once complete, click the "Save" button.

Step 6.

The uploaded video is now available in My Media.

Step 7.

To upload the video to a course Dropbox or Discussion, you will need to navigate to the course and to the P.L.A.T.O. tool you wish to upload to. From here, you will need to click on the Insert Stuff icon of the 'HTML Editor' and Insert Kaltura Media to select and Embed the video of your choice.
