Insert Video within a Dropbox or Discussion Post (for students)

Overview

Students are able post videos from their My Media (Kaltura) library to dropboxes and discussion boards within P.L.A.T.O. courses.

Instructions

Step 1. 

Navigate to the discussion board or dropbox within the P.L.A.T.O. course site, as designated by your instructor.

Step 2.

Within the text editor of the dropbox or discussion post, click the Insert Stuff button.

Step 3.

Within the Insert Stuff panel, choose Embed Kaltura Media.

Step 4.

Locate the desired video within the Embed Kaltura Media panel. If this is your first time using the Embed Kaltura Media option you will want to click on the Embed Settings icon for the video you wish to embed.

Note: If you've previously used the Insert Kaltura Media option, you can simply click the Embed button.

Step 5.

Within the Embed Settings panel, choose Insert Stuff Player (with download option) as the Player type.

Choose 720x445 as the Max Embed Size.

Check the option box for Set as my default settings for media type: video. This will preserve these settings the next time you use the Insert Kaltura Media option.

Step 6.

Within the preview panel click Insert.

Step 7.

Your video is now embedded within the text submission for the dropbox or discussion post. Click the Submit button to either finalize your dropbox submission or submit your discussion post, respectively.
