Disable MAC Randomization on Android devices

To register your device to the PCT or PCT-IOT Penn college network it is required that you locate the MAC address of the device that you are trying to register.  This is important because the MAC address is completely unique to your device, and allows the device to be registered to only you.  Some devices may use a feature to randomize that MAC address, this randomization prevents your device from being registered to your userid.

To disable this feature you will need to locate where this feature is configured on your device.  To illustrate this in one device, we have provided screenshots for configuration on a Google Pixel Device.

In your device's settings, navigate to your Wi-Fi settings:

Android Wi-Fi menu

When you are viewing your Wi-Fi settings, choose the PCT network SSID.  In the configuration for the PCT SSID, choose the advanced settings:

PCT network selected from wifi menu

In the advanced settings section, choose the "Network Details":

Shows MAC address section of PCT network

Shows "use device MAC" option
