Overview
As a Penn College student, you can expand your knowledge about business, technology, software and soft skills relative to your major or a hobby through LinkedIn Learning, formerly Lynda.com. Thousands of fully accessible, narrated videos, courses, and podcasts, developed by industry experts are available for you to explore. You can even earn certificates when you complete courses, and then share them on your LinkedIn profile or download them to share with teachers and prospective employers. Through Penn College's enterprise license, students have the benefit of being able to download and work through the same exercise file that the instructor is showing in the video. The option to pause a video and work through a few steps at a time can be invaluable for hands-on learners.
To use LinkedIn Learning you will need to have a LinkedIn account. If you don't already have an account, create one using your PCT email address as your username. If you do have an account that uses a different email account, you can merge them. A hyperlink for LinkedIn Learning is available on your P.L.A.T.O. Home page.
Graduating students or those looking for internships could have an edge over other applicants when they publish certificates earned for completing courses to their LinkedIn profile. These certificates can complement student resumes by showcasing skills the student has mastered relative to their major, as well as soft skills which are sometimes hard to include in a resume.
