1. On the top right in the Menu Bar, open the spotlight search.

2. Search for ‘System Information’ and press enter or click on the highlighted icon.

3. Check if you are using the Apple M1 chip or newer. Take note of the specs of your device for the number of cores you have and the amount of Memory available. If you are using an Intel Mac, DO NOT proceed to the next steps in this article. Instead, use the bootcamp assistant app to install windows on an Intel Mac.

4. Once again, on the right in the Menu Bar, open the spotlight search.

5. Search for ‘Software Update’ and press enter or click on the highlighted button.

6. If a new version of macOS is available, install it first then proceed to the next steps.

7. Open a web browser and go to the Windows Insider Preview Download page. Select Sign in on Top Right.
Note: It is recommended to use an Ethernet cable to make the file download faster.

8. Sign in to your PCT account.

9. Click on the ‘Learn more’ button

10. Scroll down and look for the ‘Register’ button and click it.

11. Check the check box and click the ‘Register now’ button

12. After you Register, you need to go back to the Windows Insider Preview Download webpage.

13. Select the (Dev) on the drop down menu. If that option is not available, then select a different option, then click ‘Confirm’.

14. Select English and click Confirm.

15. Click on Download Now

16. The next website to open is the UTM for Mac. Click on the Download button.

17. Open the UTM.dmg file

18. Drag the file into the Applications folder

1. Open the Finder window.
2. Eject the UTM from the sidebar.
3. Click on the Applications folder.
4. Open the UTM app.

1. In the Dock, right click on the UTM app “Two finger click on Trackpad” you will see a menu come up.
Or click and hold on the UTM app until the menu comes up.
2. Select ‘Options’ then check ‘Keep in Dock’ to pin it to the Dock.

21. Important: Restart the computer and un-check the check box that has ‘Reopen windows when logging back in.’

22. After restarting, click on the UTM app in the dock to open it.

23. Click on Create a New Virtual Machine.

24. Click on Virtualize

25. Click on Windows

26. Check on the Checkbox ‘Import VHDX Image’ and then select Browse

27. In the Downloads folder, Look for the Windows11_InsiderPreview… or newer VHDX file.

28. Click on Continue

29. If your Mac has 8GB of RAM, allocate 6GB to the Virtual Machine. If your mac has more RAM, it is recommended to allocate 10GB. In the CPU cores, allocate the same number of cores that matches the performance cores if you have less than 6 cores. If you can allocate 6 Cores, that should be enough.

30. Click Continue 2 more times.

31. Check the checkbox ‘Open VM Settings’ then click Save.

2. Check Checkbox ‘Force Multicore’
3. Copy and Paste from the Memory to the JIT Cache
4. Click Save

33. Start the Virtual Machine by clicking the Play Button.

34. When the welcome screen comes up, Press the fn, control, shift, and F3 keys simultaneously.

35. Open the file explorer when it is available. Do NOT close the sysprep tool.
Note: If you already see the Guest Tools installer, skip to step 38.

36. Open the CD Drive.

37. Open the utm-guest-tools exe file.

38. Click next in installation.

39. Click I Agree in installation.

40. Select I want to manually reboot later then click finish.

41. Open the sysprep tool.

42. Open the sysprep tool and select Generalize. Before you select OK, make sure the boxes are the same as shown in the image. Wait for the Virtual Machine to go back into the setup screen.

43. Click Skip on the Keyboard layout.

44. Click Skip for now

45. Select ‘Set up for work or school’ then click next.

46. Select Sign-in options

47. Click Domain join instead.

48. Give your account a name then click Next.

49. Do not specify a password, just click next.

50. It is recommended to turn off all switches to increase performance then click Accept.

51. When the desktop screen appears, open Microsoft Edge to download the software.

52. (Optional) To save space, on the host machine, delete the Windows11_InsiderPreview… file.
