When working with especially large files, Apporto recommends copying that file to your desktop.

Instructions


Use OneDrive on the Web 

  1. Open any web browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge) 
  2. Browse to OneDrive.pct.edu
  3. Sign in with your Penn College username and password.
  4. From here, you can download files, upload files, edit files in the Microsoft Office web applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Etc)
  5. NOTE: You may have issues opening these files in the installed Microsoft Office applications (Project, Visio) directly from OneDrive on the web. See Sign in to Office Apps. 

 

Use the Cloud Mounter application

1.    Launch Cloud Mounter. Cloud Mounter is located on the desktop and in the start menu.
2.    Select OneDrive.
3.    You can name the drive or not, depending on your preference. Leave "Connect at login/startup checked."
4.    Sign in with your Penn College username and password. 
5.    On success, File Explorer will launch and show you the contents of your drive. Take note of the letter associated with your cloud-mounted drive (in most cases, it will be D:)
6. From here, you can take several different routes to access your OneDrive files using Cloud Mounter.

  • Open "This PC" > Select "Network" > Open the CloudMounter folder.
  • Open File Explorer (or "This PC") > In the title bar where "This PC" is listed, type the letter associated with your cloud-mounted drive followed by a colon. For example, D:
  • Add a shortcut to your desktop. Right-click the desktop > Select "New" > Select Shortcut > type the letter associated with your cloud-mounted drive followed by a colon. For example, D:

Sign in to Office Apps

  1. Open Project or Visio
  2. In the Upper right, you'll see a colored circle with your username_pct displayed to the right.
  3. Click on the colored circle and then "sign in with a different account."
  4. Sign in with your Penn College Username and Password.
  5. NOTE: some Penn College users have reported that they never get the password prompt when using this method. Testing has shown that waiting a minute and trying again typically resolves the issue. If you have this problem, and it is not resolved by trying again, please report a problem with Apporto.
