Overview
The steps below detail the required actions to allow a technician to remotely control your computer with the Bomgar application through support.pct.edu.
If a technician did not direct you to this page, please contact the Service Desk at x4848 in order to request support.
Instructions
Step 1.
Navigate to support.pct.edu in your web browser of choice. Microsoft Edge is used for this demonstration.
After the page opens, click on the name of the technician who directed you to this page.
Step 2.
A chat window will open, When prompted, click "Accept".
Step 3.
Three clicks are required to share your screen. Click "Entire Screen", then the image of your screen, then the "Share" button.
Full Client Install Instructions
In some cases, the technician may need to directly control your PC. This will require the full support client to be installed with the steps below.
Step 1.
Click the "Accept" button when prompted.
Step 2.
Find the downloaded file and run it. In Microsoft Edge, your download list appears in the top right corner of the browser window. In Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, the download appears in the bottom left corner. In any browser, you can hold the "CTRL" key on your keyboard and press "J" to cause the download list to display.
Double click the Bomgar client download or click the "Open File" or "Run" options.
Step 3.
Your support session will briefly disconnect & a splash image will appear in the center of your screen while the client installs. Once the client installs, a new chat window will appear and the technician will automatically be reconnected.
A screen will appear asking which applications you wish to share. All options should be checked by default and must remain checked. Click the "Close" button to share control of your computer with the technician.
