MFA - Hardware Token

If you are issued a hardware token, it will be a Token2 device that produces a 6-digit code every 30 seconds. 


Optional - Change Default Sign-in Method.

Once issued a hardware token, you can change your default sign-in method to the hardware token at https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo.

Click "Change" next to "Default sign-in method."

Select "Authenticator app or hardware token - code" 

Note: the hardware token is still available even if it is not the default method.
 

Approving Multi-factor Authentication Requests with a Hardware Token

When logging into a Penn College system that requires multi-factor authentication (MFA), you will be prompted to approve the request.

If you did not set the hardware token has your default sign-in method, click "I can't use my ... right now" and select "use a verification code from my mobile app." 


At the following screen, you will be able to enter the 6-digit code from the hardware token.

Please press the power button on the hardware token to display the code.The left hand side of the display shows count down bars as the code is refreshed every 30 second.

Once you enter the code from the hardware token on the screen, click the Verify button. You should now be signed in.
