Educational & Emerging Technologies (EET) provides information, resources, and services to the college community for applications and technologies relative to teaching and learning.
Instructional Technology
Instructional Technology encompasses the theory and practice of design, development, management, and evaluation of teaching and learning. Educational & Emerging Technologies (EET) uses the principles of instructional design to help faculty and students get the most out of their courses. Moreover, by working closely with faculty, we are able to develop technology and strategy-driven solutions for the courses on campus and online.
Instructional Media
There are several staff members within Educational & Emerging Technologies (EET) who have professional backgrounds and experience with multimedia, film, and video. This team is available to faculty for any instructional media that may be required for delivery in online or face-to-face classrooms. Instructional media encompasses anything from instructional videos to banner and website graphics, custom interfaces, 3D simulations, and recording of class speakers, guest lecturers, and instructor lectures. EET can also create media-rich, interactive learning environments including virtual field trips, review modules, and anything else that can be deployed digitally.
Institutional Initiatives
Not only does Educational & Emerging Technologies handle instructional initiatives across campus and online, but we also offer services to benefit institutional initiatives. These initiatives include but are not limited to campus presentations, campus events, community events, Penn College Commencement, departmental presentations, and staff training. Specifically, we participate in other campus and community projects requiring office resources. For example, EET has participated in the production and broadcasting of the Little League World Series. We have also recorded events at the Community Arts Center, Downtown Williamsport, and events outside Pennsylvania and even the United States.
Training and Support
Educational & Emerging Technologies offers training and support to college faculty with quality instruction and ongoing support. Collectively, EET has a strong background and understanding of principles and procedures including, but not limited to, quality through assessment, all aspects of corporate training, instructional technologies for the classroom, online technologies in education, learning management system (LMS) support, and multimedia use in the classroom.
EET uses this wide range of experience and resources to provide faculty with training on the use of the College’s LMS. We also offer training on strategy and technology-driven solutions for teaching online and in the classroom.
