With Respondus Monitor you can employ the power of Respondus LockDown Browser and provide automated proctoring of online exams. Once an exam is submitted, you can review a student's entire recording or just any flagged suspicious behavior.
Choose the best options for you and your students in the exam’s LockDown Browser settings in your P.L.A.T.O. course site to give you the assurance that the student is the one taking your exam. A Startup Sequence composed of seven possible steps that you select in the exam's settings will guide students through the requirements to take your exam. There is even a 24/7 chat available for students within Respondus Monitor. The seven possible steps include:
- Webcam check
- Additional Instructions that you can edit or replace the standard instructions
- Guidelines to encourage the student to select a quiet environment with proper lighting, a good Internet/Network connection, an upright seating position and even remove hats and sunglasses
- Student photo
- Show Student ID
- Environment Check
- Require facial recognition before and during the exam, where additional options prevent the student from starting the exam if his/her face cannot be detected in the Startup Sequence
NOTE: Educational and Emerging Technology recommend using a wired connection when taking an exam using Lockdown Browser with Monitor.
