Overview
How to use send-as email delegation.
When trying to send an email as a distribution list or other account you have Send-As delegate rights to you receive a Message Undeliverable Error containing the following text.
This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator. You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user. Error is [0x80070005-0x0004dc-0x000524].
This message is received because outlook defaults to only sending on behalf of a user not as a user.
The following instructions will help you use outlook to send as another account.
Instructions
Step 1.
in Outlook Click the "New Email" button.
Step 2.
On the new message, Click on options and select the BCC and From buttons.
Step 3.
Your message headers should now look like this.
Step 4.
Choose "Other E-mail Address..." from the drop down on the "From" button.
Step 5.
Click the "From..." Button on the Send From Other E-mail Address Dialog Box.
Step 6.
Pick "Global Address List" in the Address Book Drop Down changing from the default "Offline Address List."
Step 7.
Use the appropriate search method and go button to search the global address list for the account you want to send as. Pick the account from the bottom of the dialog and click ok.
Step 8.
Click "Ok" on the Send From Other E-mail Address dialog box confirming your selection.
Step 9.
The selected address should now appear in the from dialog box on the new message. It is Recommended to send yourself a test message to make sure everything worked. Then add your recipients to the Bcc field so they cant see each otheres emails when sending to more than 1 recipient.
Step 10.
The test email should only show the account you sent as.
