The security of the email service at Pennsylvania College of Technology is key to protecting our user's and the College's data. To fight malicious email attacks like phishing and malicious attachments, Information Technology Services has enabled security services to help us protect PCT users. These services will scan links within emails and files attached to emails for safety.
ATP Safe Links
Links in your email will redirect to a “safelinks.protection.outlook.com” address. This redirection is Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) working to protect your account and your computer from phishing and malicious software.
The security feature will display one of the following warnings if there is a problem with the link in your email.
ATP is scanning the link
A URL is being scanned by ATP Safe Links. You might have to wait a few moments to try the link again.
A URL in a suspicious email message
The URL in the email seems similar to other email messages that are considered suspicious. We recommend that you double-check the email message before proceeding.
A URL is identified as a phishing attempt
A URL in an email has been identified as a phishing attack. As a result, all URLs in the email message are blocked. We recommend that you do not proceed to the site.
A site has been identified as malicious
The URL points to a site that has been identified as malicious. We recommend that you do not proceed to the site.
