Overview
Provides some guidelines for off-site collaboration and video-conference best practices
Description
- Minimize any type of back lighting (i.e. lights or an open window) behind you. Lighting is best when it is pointed directly at you
- Wear a headset with a microphone if possible to minimize unwanted feedback
- Mute your microphone when not speaking
- Dress properly
- Frame the camera properly
- Place the web camera at eye level towards you. Look at the camera when speaking
- Pay attention
- Be on time
- Be careful to avoid doing anything that may cause distractions to others (like eating)
- Turn off music, videos or any other background sounds
- Use a stable Internet connection
Most importantly – act the same respectful way if you were present in the same room with others
