"You cannot access this right now" Turn off iCloud Private relay in Safari - MacOS

With iCloud+ subscription, Students & Staff may have iCloud Private relay on. This routes traffic through a VPN which is blocked on PCT accounts. This article shows how to turn off iCloud Private relay in the Safari app.

When signing in through the Safari Browser, iCloud Private Relay is turned on to route traffic through a VPN. This article shows how to disable Private Relay.

 

Step 1: On MacOS click on Safari on the top left of your screen. Then click Preferences.

 

Step 2: Click on the Privacy Tab. Then turn off the Hide IP address.

 

Step 3: Select Sign out and sign in with a different account.

If you get the 'You cannot access this right now' message again, follow Step 4.

 

Step 4 (Follow only if the previous steps did not work): Select the History in the Menu Bar then select Clear History.

 

Note: This will clear all history on your device and sign out of all accounts.

Step 5: Select 'All History' in the drop down menu. Then click Clear History.
