Use the Office Lens mobile app to simulate scanning a document. With Office Lens you can capture documents, whiteboards, photos, and even business cards, and then convert them to easy-to-read files in multiple formats.
Instructions
- Navigate to Google Play Apps (Android) or Apps Store (IOS).
- Search for Office Lens.
- Download and Install it.
- Open Office Lens and choose something to capture.
- Scroll through the options along the bottom to the one that matches what you want to capture (Whiteboard, Document, Business Card or Photo)
- Align your camera until the red outline borders around your intended capture area.
- Press the "Take Picture" button.
- If the image on your screen is not what you wanted, choose to "Add New".
- When you have an image you want to keep, note the "filter" option at the bottom of your screen, as these filters can quickly cleanup a poor image.
- Also, note the options at the top of your screen to enable you to crop, rotate, change the original type, enter text or draw on your captured item.
- Choose "Done" to save your work
- You can then choose to save your file as Gallery, PDF, OneNote, OneDrive, Word, or PowerPoint.
- Files save to an Office Lens folder in OneDrive.
